Andrew Wiggins made a comeback to the Golden State Warriors roster after a long absence. The Canadian missed more than 20 games for the defending champs right before the playoffs, leaving them in a pickle. The Warriors’ form was horrible on the road, to say the least. Wiggins’ defense was heavily missed, and he didn’t look like his usual self upon his return as well.
Wiggins was decent toward the end of the Sacramento Kings series, averaging 18.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 1.9 blocks in 7 games. Stephen Curry pulled a rabbit out of the hat in Game 7, scoring 50 points and leading The Dubs to the next round. The Warriors haven’t looked this lackluster in a long time, as the series is currently 3-2 to the Los Angeles Lakers.
Andrew Wiggins suffered a costal cartilage fracture in Game 5 of Lakers vs Warriors
In Game 5, Andrew Wiggins suffered a huge injury, and his status for Game 6 remains in question. The Warriors have been astonishingly predicted to come back from a 3-1 deficit, as predicted by the infamous corgi. However, Wiggins’ presence will be vital for that to happen, given his 25-point performance.
During the 4th quarter, Wiggins was prepared to go for a rebound from a Steph Curry shot. The Chef made the shot, but Wiggins made contact with LeBron James. He appeared to be in discomfort right away, holding his chest. Sources later revealed that Wiggins suffered a costal cartilage fracture.

Wiggins has been fairly lucky to not suffer any major injuries in his career. It hasn’t been disclosed whether the fracture will keep him on the sidelines, but he is questionable to face the Lakers. Costal cartilage fractures are not common, they only occur when there’s blunt trauma to the chest and are seen when one’s ribs are fractured.
Although the contact Wiggins made with King James did not appear to be severe, it looks like it was enough to hurt the former. The fracture is said to be brutal and would limit his breathing and movement. With that said, he might be a game-time decision for Steve Kerr’s men, but Warriors fans will be hoping Wiggins can return.
