Anthony Davis and the Los Angeles Lakers are currently one game away from eliminating Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors. As fans will certainly be aware, the Lakers defeated the Grizzlies and the Warriors defeated the Kings in order to qualify for the second round in the NBA playoffs.
Although the Warriors are the defending champions and were expected to win this series, they ended up falling into a 3-1 deficit after 4 games of this series. In Game 5 AD sustained an injury and was soon sidelined for the rest of this game. Given his injury history, fans should certainly want to know more about what happened and when he can be expected back for his team.
What injury does Anthony Davis have?
Fans who watched the game will be in the know about what happened. Led by Stephen Cury, the Warriors managed to defeat Davis and the Lakers in Game 5. By doing so, they have kept their postseason hopes alive and brought the series to a position of 3-2, forcing a Game 6.
This has come at a price for the Los Angeles Lakers. With less than 8 minutes to go in the 4th quarter, D’Angelo Russell drove to the rim and attempted a shot. Both Davis and Kevon Looney got physical in order to secure a potential rebound and Looney’s elbow ended up hitting AD in the face.
He was soon sidelined and did not return as his team ended up losing with a final score of 121-106. According to the initial reports, Davis has avoided any serious concussion and is listed as day-to-day. Therefore, there is no certainty that he will suit up for Game 6 and it will likely be a game-time decision.
AD has been the focal point of the Warriors throughout this series, as opposed to LeBron James. This would make sense considering that he is the largest player on the court among both teams and is virtually impossible to guard by the Warriors’ defense. It would also be unfair to expect King James to consistently take over games at this juncture in his career.

As a result of this, fans are truly concerned about Davis. Even if he returns, he needs to be dominant on both ends of the floor in order to give his team a chance to succeed. We wish him a speedy recovery and hope that he will participate in Game 6.
