NBA fans are highly unlikely to see Bojan Bogdanovic return to action anytime soon. As we all know, Bogdanovic is a talented three-point shooting veteran currently with the Detroit Pistons. His catch-and-shoot abilities coupled with playmaking skills led to him being courted by several teams including the Los Angeles Lakers.
However, none of that actually panned out and Bojan remained a Piston. Now, it appears that he will not be playing for the remainder of this NBA season. Let us take a look at what is going on with the Pistons star and how the franchise is planning to deal with his situation.
The Detroit Pistons were already struggling before Bojan Bogdanovic was injured
One could argue that the Pistons are currently the worst team in the NBA. They hold a record of 15 wins and 51 losses, placing them dead last in the Eastern Conference. Although Bojan is certainly a good shooter and significant player, his team wasn’t going anywhere even when he was on the court for them.
This makes sense considering that the team is also missing Cade Cunningham. They started the season badly and as the record reflects, the Pistons never really bounced back. Now, it looks like Bojan can miss the rest of the season due to “Bilateral Achilles Tendinopathy.”
His foot issue has already led to him missing three games for the Pistons as their record further worsened. Therefore, the franchise management is planning to shut him down for the rest of the season. Perhaps this is a good move considering that the team has no postseason aspirations and straining his body made no sense.

In the event that they still plan to move on from him, it would be prudent to ensure that he is healthy and at full strength in order to increase his trade value. Considering the amount of star talent and emerging powerhouses in the Eastern Conference, there are really no moves for Detroit to make.
All they can do at this point in time is to finish this season and hopefully secure a high enough lottery pick. That will enable them to draft a franchise revolutionizing player like Victor Wembanyama. Until that happens, the situation for the Pistons isn’t really going to change much in the upcoming years.
