NBA fans are loving Kevin Durant for bringing up a very valid point about LeBron James. As we all know, the Los Angeles Lakers superstar is incredibly close to passing Kareem Abdul Jabbar and is expected to do it within a few weeks.
Big respect to KD. Always been a real one

Over the years, LeBron has been called a lot of things by his admirers and critics. Some accused him of being scared to take a last game-winning shot. Others defended him against those claims by stating that he was a pass-first player. Since he has averaged an impressive 7.5 assists throughout his career that was certainly a claim that has stood strong over the years.
Kevin Durant called this out and labeled it as simply untrue. Considering their long rivalry and respect for each other, we should undoubtedly want to know what KD had to say on the subject.
Kevin Durant thinks LeBron James was a scorer first and also a good passer
Perhaps the media played a huge role in spreading the myth that LeBron James was a pass-first guy. We know that he prefers getting his teammates involved. However, considering how many big shots he made over his career, calling him a pass-first player wouldn’t be accurate.
At least, Durant seems to think so. He spoke on the issue when being interviewed alongside his teammate Kyrie Irving. He spoke quite highly of LeBron, but also shared what he felt to be the truth.

“See, I ain’t never really fall for that pass first type. Like Bron always was a scorer, it felt like, that could pass. I think he was a scorer first. See, when you can get 50 like that or average 27-28 something for your career, I really think you a scorer in my opinion…So that’s what, on top of having longevity, that’s what brings you to being the #1 scorer of all time. I just think he a scorer first that can make plays.”
The second KD started saying that he never fell for the pass-first narrative, Kyrie instantly started smiling and nodding his head in agreement. Since Irving played with LeBron James and won him his greatest championship ever, he would certainly know best the ratio for which LeBron scorers or passes.

In any case, fans loved that Durant spoke the truth and didn’t bend to the conventional narrative that the mainstream media have been trying to push out about LeBron James.
