The injury status of Phoenix Suns veteran Chris Paul has become a growing concern for NBA fans. As we all know, CP3 is considered by many to be one of the best point guards of this generation. One of the only criticisms against him is the fact that he has never managed to win an NBA title.
At the moment, the Phoenix Suns are currently matched up against Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets. Despite the addition of Kevin Durant to the roster, the Suns are currently down 0-2 in this series. Moreover, their point guard doesn’t look completely healthy. Let us take a closer look at CP3’s injury and when he is expected to return for his team.
What injury does Chris Paul have?
Paul and the Suns are in a heap of trouble. They were unable to win a single game against the Denver Nuggets on the road. Therefore, they most certainly have to win Game 3 and defend the homecourt if they wish to make this series competitive.
Unfortunately for Suns fans, CP3 doesn’t look completely healthy. During the 3rd quarter of Game 2, he tried to grab a rebound. However, something likely got tangled with Kentavious Caldwell-Pope as Chris instantly grabbed his groin area and seemed to be in pain.
He was soon sidelined from the rest of the game and did not play. CP3 was able to play for 25 minutes while scoring 8 points, 6 assists, and 5 rebounds before the injury occurred. Without him, the Suns were unable to win this game as it ended with a final score of 97-87.
The Suns are yet to reveal whether Paul will suit up with his team for Game 3. Many believe that it will be a game-time decision based on further reexamination and evaluation. Although he is certainly in the backend of his career, CP3 certainly brings something to the table and has been averaging 13.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 8.9 assists.
It is still unclear whether the Suns star will be able to return for Game 3. However, if he is unable to do so and the team ends up losing, he might as well sit out the rest of this series since no team in NBA history has come back from being down 3-0. In any case, we wish Chris Paul a speedy recovery and a return to the court.
