Could Luka Doncic leave the Dallas Mavericks in order to form a super team? After all, that is something that LeBron James has done plenty of times in his NBA career. Even recently, with the addition of Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook. As the NBA trade deadline soon approaches on 10th February 2023, all possibilities have to be considered.
the two go to Los Angeles 🤣

NBA insiders and analysts certainly have a keen eye for predicting trades. ESPN’s Tim MacMohan made quite an interesting and controversial statement if Dallas indeed traded Luka. While all of this is just hypothetical, NBA fans will still be interested in knowing what was said and how others felt about it.
Considering that there are constant comparisons between Luka and LeBron, one might be curious as to what would happen if Doncic left to form a superteam, just like the King did back in 2010.
Will the Dallas Mavericks ever trade Luka Doncic?
Luka Doncic is coming off a monster 60-point 20 rebound 10 assist game. This is something that has never been done in NBA history Mark Cuban and the Dallas Mavericks would never trade Luka Doncic.
We are watching greatness @luka7doncic I’ve never seen anything like that ever
— Mark Cuban (@mcuban) December 28, 2022
Therefore, Tim MacMohan’s take looks quite ridiculous on the surface. However, what he said should still give NBA fans something to think about.
Lol. Impossible for either situation but man is it fun to think about them together!
Denver to trade, what, Murray, MPJ, Brown and a few 1st rounders? 👀

@GarrettHall18 this would suck so bad…but I agree with the masses. Luka won’t have the same patience Dirk had. It’s a matter of time if they don’t do something fast.

Cuban would rather give up his 1st born…

According to ESPN’s reporter, it would be more likely for Luka Doncic to join the Denver Nuggets, compared to Jokic joining the Mavs. By doing so, he is putting Jokic’s value at a higher level than Doncic’s. That would make sense, considering that Nikola Jokic has won 2 MVPs in a row. However, that would also imply that Luka is definitely lower than Jokic.

To those who are interested in the statistics, Doncic is averaging 33.6 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 8.8 assists. Additionally, he is shooting an efficient 50.6% from the field and 35.5% from the field. Jokic is only averaging 25.7 points, significantly lower. However, he is also averaging 10.8 rebounds and 9.4 assists.
In any case, Tim defended his claim by stating that this was a “light-hearted quip on a podcast.” Nonetheless, NBA fans shared their thoughts and opined on this take by a reputed person from ESPN.
Can we maybe avoid framing a light-hearted quip on a podcast as a report?

All of this is very entertaining. However, it raises an interesting question. When a super team is formed, is the star who the franchise was with prior to formation better than the star who is traded to the team? When LeBron James went to the Miami Heat, Dwyane Wade was already there and won a title with Shaq.
However, we all know the King was definitely the best player there. Thus, all these talks of who will join whom and who needs whom simply cause hot takes for the media.
