Recently, the Iowa star her 163rd triple of the season during a 95-62 win over Penn State in the Big Ten Tournament quarterfinals breaking the NCAA Division I record for 3-pointers in a season. She missed her first 11 three-pointers in the winning game and hit the big three with just 8:41 left in the fourth quarter. Notably, this record was previously held by Stephen Curry and Darius McGhee.
Furthermore, Curry made this record during the 2007-08 season with 162 three-pointers when he was representing Davidson Wildcat. On the other hand, former Liberty star Darius McGhee who is currently playing in the G-League with Indiana Mad Ants reached 162 three-pointers and had a tie with the Golden State Warriors star in the last season.
