Kevin Durant, the latest addition to the Phoenix Suns made an appearance tonight against the Sacramento Kings. However, he did so by staying on the sidelines, with the rest of the Suns’ team. Durant is nursing back from an MCL sprain, which he got back in the second week of January. He will be expected to miss out for the Suns until after the All-Star break. However, KD made an appearance tonight to give the fans and his team some morale boost.
The Suns hosted the Sacramento Kings at home, which allowed the organization to introduce KD to their fans. It is no doubt that KD received a warm welcome from the Suns’ fans. However, a fan commented on the Tweet, “Booker realizing it’s KD’s team now.”

For a long time, Chris Paul and Devin Booker have led the team from the front and doing their best for the team. In most scenarios, it looks like the team belongs to Booker. However, with the introduction of Durant in the mix, it might shift that focus. Durant is a 2x NBA winner, and has a championship appetite, unlike Booker.
Now the Suns have three highly influential players on the team in form of Devin Booker, Chris Paul, and now KD. With Durant in the mix, it will be a power struggle within the team. As KD is a 13x All-Star and a top player in the league. It’s highly unlikely for that to happen, as Durant is focused on the championship.
When will Kevin Durant play his first game with Phoenix Suns?
The Suns’ fans have received a glimpse of Kevin Durant on their side, however, he is not officially introduced to the fans. He will be introduced to the fans on the 16th of this month. The fans are excited to see KD pair up with Booker and Paul. KD is expected to be available after the All-Star break as he is nursing from an MCL sprain. Durant will undergo another evaluation following the All-Star break which will determine his return to the court.

Kevin Durant is averaging 29.7 points, 5.3 assists, and 6.7 rebounds this season during his time with the Nets. That is 3 points more than the Suns’ points leader, who is Devin Booker with 26.6 points this season. The addition of KD makes the Suns’ look like a complete and offensively threatening team. This makes the Suns genuine contenders for the NBA title this season.
