Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban is not very happy with the latest Luka Doncic mural located in Deep Ellum. To those who are unfamiliar, it is a neighborhood that is located in Dallas, North Texas. As we all know, Luka Doncic has been playing at an unreal level in order to keep his team in contention this NBA season.
It would appear as if he has no real star help from his fellow Mavericks co-stars. This is despite the acquisition of Christian Wood this season from the Houston Rockets by the Dallas Mavericks. NBA fans must certainly want to know more about this mural made for Luka Doncic. Additionally, understanding why Mark Cuban has a problem with it and thinks it is disrespectful is also important.
Mark Cuban doesn’t like the Luka Doncic Mural begging for help
Dallas Mavericks fans are certainly under the impression that Luka Doncic is the only one playing and trying to carry the team. While there is no denying that Doncic is currently the best player on the Mavs, indicating that he has absolutely no help speaks badly of the rest of his squad. Not to mention the franchise management and Mark Cuban by that extension.

In order to show their sympathy toward Doncic’s plight, Mavericks fans have painted a mural with Doncic holding up a sign, “Please send help“. It is located at the sidewall of a neighborhood bar called St. Pete’s Dancing Marlin. If you are wondering who is the person responsible for designing the mural, it was an artist called Preston Pannek with the help of his wife Adrienne.
Cuban felt that this mural was quite disrespectful towards his franchise and made his feelings clear. He sent out an email to Preston voicing his disapproval of the message behind this mural, “It’s disrespectful. But it’s your choice to do what you want. If that’s the way you want to be a fan, go for it.”
While we can certainly understand why Mark Cuban feels that way, it would be somewhat of an insult to Doncic if one claimed he had all the help he needed in order to be a contender in the Western Conference. The mural also had numbers inscribed on the background. Those numbers represent Luka’s historic scoring performances so far this season, although a few came in a loss.
Hopefully, the Mavericks owner is able to keep his feelings of distaste to the side and surrounds Luka Doncic with some better players. That might be the only way to prevent more murals from coming up in the near future.
