Kyrie Irving sent out a cryptic message on social media after demanding a sudden trade heading into the NBA trade deadline. Fans will be aware that this has been quite a dramatic season for Irving. He was criticized and suspended for sharing a link to a documentary on social media and was thoroughly criticized by Brooklyn Nets owner Joe Tsai for doing so.
He was finally allowed to play with the team and did so at a high level. However, the looming discussions surrounding his contract negotiations were always at play in the background. Some theorized that leaking out to the media and fans ideas of being traded was Irving’s way of leveraging the organization.
These are simply theories and the internet is full of them. The Nets star finally addressed his large fan base on social media but sent a perplexing message. Fans must certainly want to know what he said and attempt to decipher the meaning behind it. If that is possible at all.
NBA Fans support Kyrie Irving for demanding a trade from the Brooklyn Nets
Irving is truly a peculiar player that many struggle to understand. He has blamed the media in the past for twisting the things he has said and taking statements out of context. Now, fans started defending Kyrie more and calling out the people who were attacking him.

Joe Tsai certainly seemed to be one of the people critiquing Irving. Perhaps, all of this was simply a tactic to lowball him and not give Irving a maximum deal. Since contract negotiations usually occur outside the public eye, not many can find out what exactly caused Kyrie to suddenly demand an abrupt trade.

Irving didn’t really clear things up with his message on Twitter. It included a photo of what appears to be Bob Marley with the caption “Don’t let them fool you.”
While this message really doesn’t shed much light on this situation, fans were able to interpret what was going on and spoke out in his defense. They did so by calling out Jot Tsai for his behavior throughout this entire process. One such fan said, “Joe Tsai would rather fund a genocide than invest in his culture” and also directly defended Irving, “Real ones know you’re not in the wrong here bro…as a nets fan not even mad at you.”

Perhaps, Tsai has not been the best owner possible for the Brooklyn Nets. He has certainly not handled Kyrie well, who now has public support. This will be interesting to watch unfold as the NBA trade deadline approaches.
