Nikola Jokic had both the fans and the media speechless after he was reminded that he is averaging a triple-double this NBA season. As we all know, the Joker is playing excellent basketball and is carrying his team to hold the best record in the Western Conference with 35 wins and 16 losses.
While getting Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr back on the court has certainly helped the team become a conference powerhouse, we shouldn’t forget what Jokic is doing this season. He is on pace to not only average a triple-double for this season, something we never thought a center could do but also win a 3rd MVP award in a row.
With that being said, fans would undoubtedly assume he is prideful of his accomplishments and the player he is becoming. However, this response challenges that. Let us take a look at how Jokic reacted.
Nikola Jokic appears to be uncaring about his NBA achievements
NBA fans were stunned to see that Nikola Jokic simply didn’t seem to care about the fact that he was averaging a triple-double and carrying his team to the top of the Western Conference. When he was informed he simply responded with an exaggerated “ooohh.”

By doing so, he certainly earned a fair share of laughter from the media members and audience present there. His reactions also had social media buzzing as fans discussed how genuine a player the Joker was and his mental thought process towards these individual accolades.
“Everyone else cares about Nikola Jokic’s triple-doubles, he couldn’t care less about them. Dude just wants to play the right way and win the game.”

While it is certainly debatable whether Jokic cares about his triple-doubles or not, few can argue that his approach to the game and mentality is flawed. Due to the love that he is getting from the NBA media and fans, there will be a significant amount of pressure on him heading into this postseason.
The disrespect for the NBA stat addiction 😂

Over the past 2 years when he won MVP awards, Jokic ended up being eliminated in the first or second round by the Golden State Warriors and Phoenix Suns. Fans defended him at the time and claimed that he was shorthanded.
Now that Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr are back and look healthy, his team will be expected to go deep into the NBA postseason and ideally win a title. When\If he wins a coveted NBA championship, we are very sure that he will have a better response to questions.
