Max Christie is drawing plenty of comparisons to the late Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant on social media. As we all know, the Black Mamba is considered to be one of the best players that the game has ever seen and has 5 NBA championships to his legacy.
While Christie certainly has a lot to prove if he wants to be compared to Braynt in terms of play, a recent interview that he took part in has fans convinced that he could be the next Kobe Bryant. Let us take a look at whether there could be any truth to these feelings.
NBA fans opine that Max Christie looks similar to Kobe Bryant
It turns out that many people feel Christie looks identical to Bryant. At least from the face down, as the edited Instagram reel pointed out. It would amuse fans to know that this comparison was made in a video where Max was actually criticizing Kobe by inadvertently claiming that Bryant wasn’t his favorite player when he was growing up.
Nonetheless, Max Christie pointed out that he respected Bryant simply because he was a legend and that everybody else did. It was at this point that one could argue that Christie looked identical to Kobe Bryant. Fans instantly pointed out the same in the comments section and even went far enough to call him the incarnation of Kobe Bryant, “Kobe incarnation.”

Others also pointed out that his body language and mannerism were identical to that of the Black Mamba, “The body language n everything.”, “He needs to shave his head” and “He looks just like him.” were some of the opinions that fans shared on Instagram when they saw the reel.
As for the numbers, Christie has only played in 37 games so far in his NBA career. In them, he has averaged 3.5 points, 2 rebounds, and 0.5 assists. Considering that Christie just turned 20 years old, his game can’t be compared to Kobe who averaged 19.9 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 3.9 assists when he was the same age.
Be that as it may, we shouldn’t dismiss Christie as he still has a long way to go before establishing himself as a full-fledged NBA player. Lakers fans will certainly ho[e that he has what it takes to become the next Kobe to go along with looking like him.
