The heartthrob of the entire Basketball world at the moment, Caitlin Clark has just joined Kevin Durant in a truly exclusive list. How exclusive? Well, I can read out the list for you. Kevin Durant and Caitlin Clark, that’s it.
Caitlin Clark of the Iowa Hawkeyes could be having one of the greatest individual seasons of all time. Not just in Women’s college basketball but basketball in general. It’s just an exhilarating feeling you get watching her play. And that is not a feeling just you and I share, but so do some of the best NBA players.
The only players— men or women, college or professional— in the last 15 years to score 45+ points, dish out 10+ assists and play every minute of a game:

Clark and her Hawkeyes took on the number 1 team in the Big Ten, Michigan. Iowa as a team could not compete with Michigan as the Wolverines outscored the Hawkeyes in the first 3 quarters of the game. They were down 16 points going into the 4th quarter.
Iowa had no will in losing and nor did Caitlin as she played every single minute of the game. They did not end up winning as the final score was 98-90 in favor of Michigan. But Clark’s performance was one for the history books.
What record did Caitlin Clark break?
She scored 46 points, 10 assists, 4 rebounds, and 3 steals and played 40 minutes. Her 45+ points, 10+ assist performance whilst and play every minute of a game was the second such performance in either men or women; NBA, WNBA, or Division I in the last 15 years. The only other person that’s done that was Kevin Durant in the 2021 NBA playoffs against the Bucks in Game 5.
Kevin Durant has been a fan of Caitlin for a while now. He believed she could play in the WNBA as a freshman. He also stated,” [Caitlin’s] team from Iowa, they played together so smooth, but she was always leading that shit. She always had the ball in her hand. Everybody was playing off of her. She just commanded the whole game. ‘I’m like, who the hell is this? She is nice.”
And now, they both will forever be in the record books, right next to each other. Will Caitlin Clark have a career as illustrious as KD in the WNBA? Well, I for one am eager to find out.
