Zion Williamson is an NBA player for the New Orleans Pelicans. He came into the league as a hyped-up draft prospect, one that would save his franchise. However, he has not lived up to the majority of the hype.
Williamson came into the NBA radar as an abnormal athlete. There are very few players of his girth and frame size that could move and jump like them. Therefore, his high school and college highlights looked stellar. However, he has been extremely injury-prone
Zion was such big news and signed a 75 million dollar shoe contract even before joining the NBA. However, whatever did he do with the money he got from his first contract with the Pelicans.
Zion Williamson got a car and an ex-NBA player’s house
A rookie contract with the Pelicans was worth around 10 million dollars. Zion clearly had the sense to not spend all his money in one place. Therefore, his first two purchases were special to him.
Zion bought his brother a Jeep Wrangler. This cost around 40,000 dollars. He then purchased a house from Greg Monroe, a former 76er center, for about 900,000. Williamson clearly spent a lot to uplift his family’s status.
Zion has signed with several endorsements and brands. However, he has been injured for around 70% of his NBA career. This is clearly not a good sign. Especially, when he has been gaining additional weight.
He was already big, to begin with. Now he has access to enough money to buy all the food in a small district. He posted a few videos of him dunking l during practice, but nothing in the game. That was about all we have seen from him basketball-wise.
Zion is rare talent precisely because of how he controls his size. However, if he grows beyond what his feet can handle, this will lead to a disaster. We can only hope he spends the money he has on himself so that he can earn much much more.
