But the trade allowed the Mavericks to get way better. They won 50+ games this year and the new team fit well around Luka Doncic, almost perfectly.

However, on the last day of the season, Luka Doncic picked up an injury and missed the first 3 games of the first round. Dallas did surprisingly well without him and won 2 out of the 3 games they played. Since Luka came back, he’s been averaging nearly 32 points per game.

The series is currently 3-2 and has been one of the more competitive series in the entire NBA. However, that is something we expect from the 4th and 5th seed games. In Game 5, Luka Doncic carried the Mavericks by scoring 33 points and grabbing 13 rebounds.

After the win, Shaq and the ‘Inside the NBA’ crew spoke to Luka Doncic. Shaq was impressed with how the 23-year-old played. He asked Luka to teach him how to say a Good Job in Slovenian. He taught Shaq how to say it and the latter said it back to Luka. Luka continued this wholesome exchange with humor. “I’ll teach you the bad words later.” The Mavericks star is one of the few players that Shaq likes and this dynamic between them is truly amazing to watch.
