Ja Morant cannot catch hold of his reputation in the sports community. If there is one common rule that all sports follow, it is inclusiveness and non-violence. However, most of the Memphis Grizzlies star’s off-court appearances have been extremely controversial. After several assault allegations and controversial issues involving weapons, Morant is walking on thin ice. The NBA could either choose to terminate him or change his ways.

Recently, the All-Star was caught holding a gun during an Instagram live-stream with his friends in a car. Ja Morant as well as his squad were singing and dancing to NBA YoungBoy when the athlete may have accidentally flashed a gun once again. The league doesn’t encourage the usage of firearms nor do they tolerate violence of any form. Unfortunately, Morant’s name has been plastered all over such cases recently.
Ja Morant has been suspended from all Grizzlies activities after the Memphis star was seen flashing an apparent gun in recent social media video.

The NBA’s 2022 Most Improved Player of the Year was immediately suspended from Grizzlies activities. Morant’s suspension from team-related activities may go on throughout the off-season as well. NBA Insider Shams Charania reported that he will be suspended for an indefinite amount of time. A larger decision is impending as the NBA currently investigates the issue. The NBA star could face severe consequences as a result of his actions.
Ja Morant is likely to miss out on a significant number of games next season
Ja Morant has not addressed the situation yet as the entire world awaits news regarding his future in the league. It is speculated that he could miss a significant number of games next season once the league and Commissioner Adam Silver finalize his punishments. Earlier this season, a similar situation took place involving Kyrie Irving, who allegedly promoted a movie that display hate speech against Jews. The Dallas Mavericks point guard was suspended for almost half the season and went through sensitivity and antisemitic training.
The NBA’s spokesperson, Mike Bass said, “We are aware of the social media post involving Ja Morant and are in the process of gathering more information.” There are several outcomes in this situation. But Morant desperately needs to clean his act before things cross a point of no return.
