How to Watch 2022 NBA Draft
For viewers who do not have access to ESPN. They can watch the draft through the ABC website or stream it through Youtube TV or Hulu with Live TV.
What to expect from the 2022 NBA Draft
It is all but certain that Chet Holmgren will be drafted first. He has shown the most unique combination of skill sets between a guard and a big man. He has a defined jump shot and is confident with his three-pointer as well. Despite being listed at 6’9, Chet feels and plays like a 7-footer. This has already drawn comparisons to the likes of Kevin Durant.
There is a slight twist. A hyped-up NBA prospect usually works out with teams that are looking to recruit him prior to being drafted. This is so that the team gets a clearer idea regarding the player’s capacity, potential, and limits. Reports have emerged that Holmgren has worked out with the Oklahoma City Thunder already.
OKC has the second pick in the 2022 NBA Draft. The first pick goes to the Orlando Magic. They are reportedly interested in signing Jabari Smith Jr. Therefore, there is a chance that Chet is not drafted at number 1. Moreover, there is also a chance the Magic decide they would like to have Holmgren at the last minute.
This would mean he has no say in the matter. However, since the Magic have potentially assured Jabari Smith Jr of being drafted, they are unlikely to backtrack on their offer. Moreover, Chet’s play is more suited to the Oklahoma City Thunder’s regardless. This is because they are ranked one of the worst three-point shooting teams in the league.
Holmgren would integrate better into an offense that surrounds him and the thunder has no real star talent with the exception of Shai Gilgeous Alexander. Therefore, this would be a good fit. We will have to wait until the actual draft to see which team chooses whom.
