The point guard entered the league in 2016 but just a year before committing to the NBA, he met a girl named Harper Hempel. They first got to know each other while they attended college in Kentucky.
Hempel was also an impressive Volleyball player who won several titles and an MVP award while she competed. They got together in college and their relationship continued after Murray got drafted. However, rumors of their break up and word regarding a past scandal have gone viral lately.

These were fan reactions to a normal picture of them being circulated on the internet. Fans began to troll them as one said, “I don’t see nothin special here” while mentioning the image had no context.
Another said, “I thought they broke up.” The couple has kept things on the low lately and they haven’t been seen anywhere together. People are starting to speculate that they may have broken up. There isn’t enough evidence to prove it but there is one incident that put the couple through a dark phase.
What happened between Jamal Murray and Harper Hempel?
Things were pretty smooth sailing between Harper and Jamal Murray until March 2020. Murray and his squad were getting ready to suit up for the NBA Bubble when a s*x tape got leaked on his Instagram account. The video that was posted on his story went viral as people recorded it and took screenshots, posting them on other platforms. The couple was criticized for being reckless and careless about the things they posted on social media.
Jamal Murray later confirmed that the video was not posted by him and that his account was hacked. He further apologized to his fans and loved ones for the incident and so did Harper. However, things have been awfully quiet ever since. Hempel and Murray have not mentioned each other on social media recently which leads us to question if they are still together.
The video caused a lot of chaos for Murray on the court as well. Fans would heckle him mid-game and inappropriately slandered Harper as well. Hempel is a budding social media manager and consultant.
