On Sunday night, Rudy Gobert got into an altercation with his teammate, Kyle Anderson. The Minnesota Timberwolves played the New Orleans Pelicans to clinch the top-8 spot. The incident occurred in the 2nd quarter of the game, with the Timberwolves trailing 48-36. However, the Timberwolves made a comeback and won the game, 113-108 to clinch the 8th seed.
Gobert and Anderson got into a verbal altercation in the second quarter. However, things got physical when Gobert decided to take a swing at Anderson. The two were immediately separated and Gobert was sent to the locker room. The question now arises whether Gobert will be suspended for their next game. The Timberwolves will be traveling to the Crypto.com Arena to face the Los Angeles Lakers for a possible 7th-seed finish.
Emotions got the best of me today. I should not have reacted the way i did regardless of what was said. I wanna apologize to the fans, the organisation and particularly to Kyle, who is someone that i truly love and respect as a teammate.

Things are looking pretty bleak after Sunday night’s altercation within the Timberwolves roster. Jaden McDaniels fractured his hand when he decided to punch a wall in frustration. McDaniels is out for the season, and a huge possibility of Gobert missing out on the game against the Lakers.

Gobert apologized for the incident on Twitter. “Emotions got the best of me today. I should not have reacted the way I did regardless of what was said. I wanna apologize to the fans, the organisation and particularly to Kyle, who is someone that I truly love and respect as a teammate,” Gobert stated. However, we will have to wait and see what consequences do the Timberwolves impart on the Frenchman.
The Minnesota Timberwolves are weighing in on their decision to suspend Rudy Gobert
The Timberwolves have an important decision to make after Sunday night’s scuffle. The Timberwolves find themselves in chaos after Gobert punched Anderson in the chest. Gobert is subject to a suspension by the Timberwolves organization after punching Anderson. However, the Timberwolves are stuck with another problem, losing breakout forward, McDaniels.
Minnesota President of Basketball Operations Tim Connelly on Rudy Gobert: “We made the decision to send Rudy Gobert home after the incident in the second quarter. His behavior on the bench was unacceptable and we will continue handling the situation internally.”

Gobert could very well be suspended for the Game against the Lakers on Wednesday. However, if they do end up suspending him, it will not be a decision in favor of their season. With Anthony Davis in hot form, The Timberwolves will be left with Luka Garza, who is a two-way player. The Timberwolves have a daunting task before they make the trip to Los Angeles on Wednesday.
