The Brooklyn Nets continue their poor slump of results despite the return of Kevin Durant. They have lost 7 of their last 10 games, with the only impressive win coming against the Milwaukee Bucks. Kyrie Irving scored 38 points that game while assisting 5 times and collecting 5 rebounds. However, it still is not clicking for the Nets.
The Brooklyn Nets have lost 4 consecutive games since their win against the Bucks. And 2 of those games have come with Kevin Durant back on the floor. And in an even more difficult pill to swallow for the Nets faithful, the last loss came to the Boston Celtics with Durant and Irving back together for only the 4th time this season.
The Nets started off well against the Celtics and held their own through the 3rd quarter. Kevin Durant was on top of his game and looked unfazed from his lengthy layover due to injury. The 2-time Finals MVP scored 37 points and assisted 8 times to lead the Nets from the front. However, the spotlight was on his teammate, Kyrie Irving.
Kyrie Irving has harsh words for Boston Celtics fans
Kyrie Irving was not only returning from a 3-game absence from the Nets rotation but also returning to his former team, the Boston Celtics. Formerly his home court, the TD Garden reception was everything but warm for Irving.
They’re chanting “Kyrie sucks” here.

Irving spent 2 seasons at the Boston Celtics from 2017 to 2019. He was an All-Star in both his seasons in Boston and averaged over 24 points and 6.1 assists per game. His unceremonious exit has still not been accepted by Celtics fans, and they made sure to make themselves heard. Quite literally.
Kyrie Irving on being booed in Boston:
“Its like a scorned girlfriend, asking for an explanation why I left but still wanting a text back.”

Kyrie did not help his case by comparing Celtics fans with a sore ex-partner in his post-match presser. He said, “It’s like a scorned girlfriend, asking for an explanation why I left but still wanting a text back.”
However, the ex-Celtics man was also quick to assert his firm relationships within the Celtics organization. He concluded with a sincere remark on his pride at having represented the Celtics. Boston fans, for one, do not want a part in any of that.
