The NBA Draft has just concluded and the teams have made their picks. The Detroit Pistons have picked Jaden Ivey and fans can’t wait for the upcoming season.
Many teams in the NBA had set sights on Jaden Ivey, however, it was the Pistons, who managed to be the one to grab hold of the youngster.
The young star was behind a few other talented players. Paolo Banchero, Chet Holmgren, Jabari Smith, and Keegan Murray were the players to fill up the top 4 picks before him. The Boilermakers guard managed to average 17.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 3.1 assists during his last high school basketball season.
Ja Morant admires Jaden Ivey’s mentality
Ja Morant has been exceptional for the Memphis Grizzlies this season. He has averaged 27.4 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 6.7 assists per game in the 2021-22 season. However, the Grizzlies guard could not help his team beat the Golden State Warriors.
Everyone knows Jaden Ivey has a special bond with his mother. He has mentioned her in multiple interviews in the past and speaks highly of her tremendous contribution to his ongoing success.

Ja wanted to know what Jaden’s mindset was after Detroit drafted him. The way Jaden started his answer says a lot about his mental strength and the way he thinks. He said, “my mindset is let’s get to it. This night that I can enjoy, but tomorrow, when I get to Detroit, it’s on, I’m ready to go. I am coming with that mentality to Detroit for sure.”
His response prompted a reply from Morant on Twitter as he said “heard you la brudda”. It also seemed like Ja specifically liked it when Jaden said “let’s get to it”.
During the course of the interview, Jaden also reflected on an incredible that was the NBA Draft and spoke about the bright lights of the NBA. The young Jaden Ivey is surely a talent to watch. With the right mentality, which he already has, and the right guidance, he can go on to achieve big things in the league.
