The future of James Harden with the Philadelphia 76ers is still uncertain as the trade talks not moving forward. The 2018 MVP has made his intentions clear, noticeably missing the team’s media day and skipping the first day of training camp. The Sixers already started their training camp at Colorado State University this week and on Sunday they have their preseason match in Boston.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski suggests that while the LA Clippers remain the top contender for Harden, they might not be in a hurry to increase their trade offer. As they know there are no other aggressive players out there in the market for Harden.
“[The Clippers] aren’t necessarily motivated to up their offer. Especially when they know they’ve made the best offer out there & there’s really not another active aggressive suitor for Harden. I don’t get the sense there’s any kind of trade for Harden in the short-term”

This waiting game places the 76ers in a difficult spot. With Harden’s history of leaving teams, the franchise may find itself in a position to reassess its demands in potential trade discussions. The Sixers can’t afford to let this situation distract them, especially given the need to ensure the satisfaction of their MVP, Joel Embiid.
Will James Harden join 76ers training camp?
Although the uncertainty surrounding his future, James Harden might soon return to the 76ers. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports that Harden is expected to join the team at Colorado State University for their training this week, the Sixers have their training camp until Friday.
ESPN Sources: Philadelphia 76ers star James Harden didn’t practice at Colorado State University on Tuesday but he’s expected to arrive in Colorado as soon as today to join training camp.

This news might bring some relief for Sixers fans, but it does not guarantee anything for the future. Harden, at 34, remains a significant asset for any team. Interestingly, he has already received 50% of his $35.64 million salary for this year, as he chose the prepayment option.
While addressing the ongoing Harden saga, Daryl Morey stated, “In terms of a trade, I will continue to work on those fronts and, if he’s here, then coach will work with him on the court. I think it’s pretty straight forward,” Morey said. “He continues to seek a trade and we are continuing to work with his representation to find the best solution for the 76ers and all parties.”
The upcoming days will be crucial in determining whether the former MVP will be a part of the Sixers’ journey this season or if another NBA chapter waits for him. The Sixers have their regular season opening match on 27 October against the Milwaukee Bucks.
