James Harden is one of the best shooting guards in the NBA. The former All-Star has got the chance to play for various teams in the league and also won an NBA MVP award. The beard has been averaging 22.5 points, 8 rebounds, and 10.2 assists per game this season.
Harden was part of the big three at Brooklyn. he got to play against Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. However, the Brooklyn Nets hit a slump and it seemed like James Harden wanted out as soon as possible. Harden got his wish and he finalized a move to the Philadelphia 76ers. He will also don a new jersey number at Philadelphia.
James Harden to Don No.1 with 76ers
The plan was for James Harden to wear jersey number 13. However, the fans of Philly would never let that happen and the reason is perfectly valid. Harden was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers and the Brooklyn Nets received Seth Curry and Ben Simmons. James Harden will get to play with the current MVP favorite, Joel Embid. This move has given the Philadelphia 76ers a huge boost and made them one of the scariest inside-outside duos in the NBA.
Harden will wear jersey number 1 instead of 13. This is because NBA legend Wilt Chamberlain wore the number 13. The number was retired to honor the basketball legend and hence won’t be available for any players to don. James Harden wore the number 13 when he played at Oklahoma City Thunder, Houston Rockets, and Brooklyn Nets.

A change in number might bring a change in luck for James Harden considering he’s coming to form a team that suffered 9 losses back to back. The trade might have been a difficult one to make but in the end, it worked out for all parties. Kevin Durant also voiced his opinion on the trade.
“I’m excited for our team, looking forward to finishing the season out with this new group and these new players. It’s playoffs right around the corner so we’ve to go fast-track in getting used to each other, but I think everybody got what they wanted”
James Harden will appear at the NBA All-Star Game as a part of team LeBron and will soon make his Philadelphia debut as well. Only time will tell how long this stint with the 76ers will last.
