Since her actions, the fans didn’t like the fact that she punched a player outside the game. Fans responded on Twitter about removing her from the team after her incident. On top of that, the incident took place right in front of the commentator’s table. The strict action taken by Bowling Green sent a warning to other players to avoid violence at all costs.
The fans eagerly waited about what would happen in the case. The police did not arrest Jamirah and the investigation was ongoing, and the reason why Jamirah decided to act that way is still unknown. However, according to Fox News, Jamirah has pled not guilty to an assault charge.
What is Elissa Brett doing right now?
Brett is a senior at Bowling Green State University. Last week, Brett went through a traumatic incident, which involved her being on the receiving end of a violent act. Despite getting sucker-punched after the game in the customary handshake line, it didn’t stop her from playing basketball. The Bowling Green took on the Florida Aligator, where she clocked in 38 minutes for her team. She ended the game with 18 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 assists.
However, unfortunately for her team, they crashed out of the seminals of the WNIT against the Columbia Lions, 77-70. In a close game, Brett contributed 8 points and 4 rebounds while staying on the court for 33 minutes. Despite her traumatic incident, Elissa has shown character and didn’t shy away from representing her college.
