Jaxon Hayes is the 21-year-old center for the New Orleans Pelicans. The Atlanta Hawks drafted Hayes in 2019. Jaxon has played an important bench role in the Pelicans roster. He finished the 2020-21 season with 7.5 points and 4.3 rebounds per game. The LAPD arrested this young star at his home.
What led to Jaxon Hayes’s arrest?
The incident occurred at the player’s home. His neighbors heard a girl screaming. They immediately called the police and reported a domestic disturbance. Hayes stopped the police at the door. Jaxon reportedly would not allow the police to enter his home.

The LAPD had to resort to using their force to try and enter the house. The police tased the NBA player. During this brawl with the cops, Hayes used a racial slur. He called one of the police officers the n-word.
The police also went on to arrest the friend filming the whole incident. Hayes was released on a $25,000 bond.
Jaxon Hayes using the N-word triggered anger in the LAPD. The police took the time to pen down a letter to Adam Silver, the commissioner of the NBA.
Mr. Silver,the actions of your player were unlawful, completely unacceptable and are as clear a prima facie case of violating several of the National Basketball Association policies as we have seen.We respectfully request that you immediately initiate a thorough investigation into Mr. Jaxson Hayes’ actions before, during and after the incident and to take appropriate corrective action to hold Mr. Hayes accountable
Will Jaxon Hayes be fined for using a racial slur? The drama surrounding the issue is nowhere near the end. After the brawl, Hayes was left with quite a few injuries.
