Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics are one win away from the NBA Finals. They have a 3-2 lead over the Miami Heat. Tatum has carried his team past the best in the East this postseason.
Tatum has established himself as a clear-cut superstar this postseason. He has been averaging 26 points 6 assists and 6 rebounds in the playoffs. Additionally, he has been shooting 43% from the field and 35% from the three-point line.
The Celtics have dealt with injuries to their players this postseason. The most prominent is Marcus Smart who has been in and out of the rotation. However, it is a lesser-known fact that JT has also been injured in the Eastern Conference Finals.
Jayson Tatum is not too worried about the injury
Jayson has clearly proven himself in these playoffs. He eliminated Kevin Durant and Giannis Antetokounmpo. They are widely recognized as the best players currently in the NBA.
His shoulder may have hampered him during certain points. However, Jayson has managed to elevate his performance when he is on the court. He has “off” shooting nights when it seems like he can’t get the ball to go in the basket.
Tatum always follows disappointing games with spectacular ones. Additionally, the Boston Celtics manage to win even if he isn’t at his best.
A key reason for this is Jaylen Brown. He is the co-star on the Celtics. Additionally, Brown has also proven to be a force to be reckoned with on the Boston Celtics. His presence allows Jayson to relax to some extent on defense.
The Celtics as a whole are proving to be an excellent defensive team. They managed to hold the Miami Heat starters to an abysmal 18 points combined in game 5. This shows how serious JT is every time he gets on the court.
A shoulder injury is complicated. It affects the form of a shooter greatly. Additionally, it lowers the shooter’s strength greatly. Therefore, Tatum will need to be careful not to overexert himself. He is the closest he has ever been to the NBA Finals.
Jayson Tatum deserves his props. It is not easy to play at 100% if you don’t feel 100%. JT has given it his all this postseason. He has shown that he is also a true star in this league.
