The New York Knicks fan base has always been passionate about the game of basketball. At the same time, they are also one of the most brutal fan bases on earth. Sometimes, their players face New York’s wrath as well. But the Big Apple also has a large celebrity following. The Knicks have been a celebrity franchise itself. During the 80s through the 2000s, NYK was a big attractor of crowds and players.

The Knicks recently made it to the Eastern Conference Semi-finals. New York hasn’t made it this far in ages especially after Carmelo Anthony’s era ended. They are currently facing the Miami Heat and are already two games in. Game 2 attracted many Hollywood stars and other athletes to the arena. Carmelo Anthony, Roger Federer, Aaron Rodgers, Spike Lee, Tracy Morgan, CC Sabathia, Jessica Alba, Amar’e Stoudemire, Robert Saleh, Sauce Gardner, and Jerry Ferrara were all in attendance.

Stars like Tracy Morgan and Spike Lee have been long-time supporters of the Knicks. Lee even has his own championship ring from the 70s. Besides then, Anthony and Stoudemire formerly played for the New York Knicks. They played for nearly five seasons together which included 178 games. It was one of the Knicks’ last successful runs until now.

The New York Knicks stun the Miami Heat by tying the series 1-1

The New York Knicks came back in Game 2 against the Miami Heat in an impressive manner. They fired as much as they could on offense and capitalized on Jimmy Butler’s absence on the Heat’s roster. Butler rolled his ankle in Game 1 just before the Heat sealed the deal. Even though he managed to finish the game, Miami ruled him out of Game 2 as a precautionary measure.

Butler is the Heat’s biggest offensive star which is why they struggled to score more than the Knicks. Jalen Brunson led the Knicks with 30 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists. This was backed by Julius Randle’s 25 points, 12 rebounds, and 8 assists during the game. This was Randle’s best playoff performance this season. However, the Knicks still have a long way to go in the series.

Butler could be available for the next game, even though it is indefinite. But once he comes back, the Heat will return to form and be a menace in the East. In comparison, the Knicks have been more consistent than the Heat during the regular season, in terms of winning. Brunson also consistently takes charge of the offensive side of things as well. Needless to say, this series could wind up in either direction.
