Joe Rogan Agrees Brittney Griner Was Used as a Political Pawn Despite Breaking Rules in Russia

Joe Rogan agrees that there could be hidden agenda in bringing Brittney Griner back home after her arrest in Russia earlier this year. NBA fans must certainly be aware of this issue by now. The WNBA star was arrested and spent 10 months in Russia. However, following a wave of public sympathy and disapproval, the Biden administration managed to orchestrate the release of Griner.

The commentator along with several others had quite a lot to say on this issue. Especially regarding the other American prisoner left behind, Paul Wheelan. Considering that Rogan is a reputed member of the sports community with ample resources, his perspective on the context behind all of this should certainly be heard.

This is quite a complicated issue that can be viewed from several perspectives. Fans might be aware that Paul Wheelan is a former US Marine who was arrested in Russia and accused of spying. Despite vehemently denying these charges, he was sentenced to 16 years imprisonment for espionage.

Joe Rogan explained Russia’s take on the whole situation. Something that the United States would potentially deny, “It turned out they offered either one or the other… Supposedly it was a 1 vs 1. You could pick which one.”

On his podcast the Joe Rogan Experience (JRE), Rogan found a video of a Russian news channel discussing this issue and openly mocking the United States. The news anchor called out the Biden administration for choosing to release a “dug-addled lesbian” instead of a decorated war hero. She assumed that this meant Wheelan was guilty and that America was prepared to have him sacrificed and that speaks to the state of the country.

After the video ended, Rogan explained that these types of new channels usually generate a lot of government propaganda. Unlike many media outlets in the United States. He concluded with a very valid point.

“This is what people don’t understand when they try to impose censorship. It goes all the way through. you will eventually get to a point where it’s only state-sanctioned information that’s allowed to be distributed if you allow censorship.”

There is certainly a problem with censorship. We have seen multiple people banned from social media platforms for certain statements or opinions. One’s that don’t go along with the people in charge. It would appear as if the US made a bad deal. However, we aren’t really supposed to say anything. The lack of people speaking up for Paul Wheelan is also an indicator of censorship.
