Brittney Griner and other celebrities may have stolen the show at the 2023 Met Gala with their appearance. But nothing was more unique than what popular musical artist Janelle Monáe wore that night. The Met Gala is a yearly event that always features famous individuals of all fields and it attracts quite a few uniquely absurd or interesting outfits. This year’s event was no different and fans were left either stunned by beauty or baffled by clothing choices.

The WNBA star was present at the Gala along with her wife, Cherelle Griner. Brittney has been coming out in the open more often which is a first ever since returning to the United States. A few other basketball stars and athletes of other sports attended the event as well. Needless to say, a couple of them were quite eye-catchy, and fans loved what they saw. To begin with, Janelle Monáe had one of the most interesting outfits of the night. It is up for debate on whether it was a good choice for the event or a mistake. The singer wore a black and white patchwork overcoat which was seemingly large. Inside the overcoat was a massive and stiff hoop skirt. It was made with black see-through material and underneath she wore a black bikini suit to go with it.

The outfit was inspired by Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty, after which the entire event was themed. Regardless to say, Janelle Monáe was fearlessly embracing her outfit on the Met Gala carpet, much like her fellow attendees. The most unique outfit of the night was Doja Cat’s cat-inspired look. She had a makeup artist prepare a prosthetic version of a cat’s face. During her interview, she replied with meows.
Brittney Griner wore a beige-colored suit and its coat’s length went all the way down to her calves. Bad Bunny was also present at the Gala wearing a fashionable backless white coat-suit. He was accompanied by Kendall Jenner who wore a stunning black one-piece that came with trails.

Dwyane Wade was also present at the event. He wore a long coat with a Chinese collared sleeves vest on the inside. The all-black look also included a pair of gloves as well. His wife, Gabrielle Union also wore a similar outfit but in red, which included a dress on the inside.
