NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal made sure to let the world know that he is on Rihanna’s side after her performance at the NFL Super Bowl Halftime. Fans might be aware of this anticipated matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs. However, the halftime show by Rihanna managed to garner even more attention.
In fact, even the former President Of The United States, Donald Trump, shared his views on the performance. However, O’Neal’s passion and insistence on his stance seem to be outweighing some of the other opinions put out. That said, fans should certainly be interested in finding out how Shaq chose to voice his opinion on her halftime show.
Shaquille O’Neal demands that fans leave Rihanna alone after her NFL Super Bowl performance
The NFL halftime show is something that generates a lot of revenue and popularity. Some fans felt that multiple singers should have been given a chance to be on that stage, as opposed to just Rihanna. People also claimed that she appeared to be lip-syncing and not performing live as one would expect.
Adding to all of this was the fact that she was pregnant. Therefore, she really couldn’t dance or move around in the most efficient manner. Donald Trump was one of the people watching the event who didn’t even enjoy the music or. He sent out a tweet later, calling out Rihanna for this entire performance.
“EPIC FAIL: Rihanna gave, without question, the single worst Halftime Show in Super Bowl history — This after insulting far more than half of our Nation, which is already in serious DECLINE, with her foul and insulting language. Also, so much for her Stylist!”
One could argue that many of her songs don’t have the best lyrics. However, Shaq was one who didn’t want any hate to be cast her way.
“All you people disrespecting my Rihanna shut your face. Shut it up. Like we live in a world where people got too much freedom. Keep your f*ckin thoughts to yourself. She did a wonderful job. She pregnant, she blessed it, she did her thing she didn’t fall. Just leave it there.”
Despite claiming that he wanted to leave it there, O’Neal did not, “All you superstars that’s disrespectful shut your face….Leave this woman alone Rihanna is Rihanna. I was there it was beautiful she did a great job. I didn’t know she was pregnant until she bust out but leave her alone.”
Shaq certainly has an intimidating presence and wanted to make it clear that people like Rihanna and Beyonce should be protected. Fans are left wondering if Shaq has some personal bias in this situation.
