Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets capped off their recovery after their incredible mid-season slump with a win against the Pacers. The slump saw them go from 1st in the Eastern Conference to all the way down to the Play-In spots. In the absence of Durant, the Nets lost 11 straight games and recorded the second-worst losing streak since the franchise moved to Brooklyn.
However, it took a while after snapping the streak and the return of Durant for them to finally get going again. They now sit in 7th in the Eastern Conference and firmly locked in for the highest Play-In seed with home-court advantage. Although the Nets will rue missing out on a guaranteed playoff spot by just 2 games, their stalwart’s form gives them hope.
Durant has been on a tear in the last few games, recording a triple-double in 2 of his last 3 games. He also assisted a career-high 16 times in the game against the Pelicans. Over the last 5 games, he has averaged 32.2 points, 8.4 assists, and 8.2 rebounds. Consequently, the Nets have won 4 games on the trot and close out the regular season strong.
But KD’s destructive streak has not been limited to the court. Prior to his final regular-season game, he engaged in his favorite online pastime, trolling trolls on Twitter.
Kevin Durant calls out Nick Gelso on Twitter
In an NBA history debate that pitted Larry Bird against Kevin Durant, CLNS CEO Nick Gelso chose Bird. But took it a step further when he almost invitingly incited the Nets superstar wishing to be engaged. His wishes were fulfilled when he tweeted out further nonsense.
He’d be so so so sad but no matter what @KDTrey5 feels inside, he always (A L W A Y S) portrays himself as an angry mean big bad villain lol. Fraud.

Calling the 12-time All-Star a fraud, and someone with a pretense on at all times is as far as it gets. Durant did not let it go unnoticed.
It’s crazy how the internet made grown men attention whores. https://t.co/xubk5rs4Ph

In a measured, thought-out response the Slim Reaper did away with another soul. Furthermore, his retort echoes relevance and wisdom. KD is no stranger to Twitter trolls, or banter having dealt with some just a while ago. But he will aim to look beyond it as the business end of the season is finally here. And he has a championship to contend for.
