Kevin Durant moved to the Phoenix Suns a few weeks ago and the NBA community has been excited to see them at full strength. Durant’s debut for the Suns was heavily delayed as he came from the Brooklyn Nets with an MCL sprain. This was the second MCL sprain of his career and it is understandable why KD did not want to risk it and made sure to recover fully.
After six weeks since suffering the injury against Jimmy Butler, KD returned to the court and balled out for the Suns on his first outing. Against the Charlotte Hornets, Durant put up 23 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists. Although it was not his usual numbers, it was decent considering the lack of game time.
The Suns are hit with yet another heartbreak right now, as Durant suffered another injury recently. There are fears among fans that he will miss a significant amount of time which could hinder the Suns’ chances to win the title.
What happened to Kevin Durant?
Durant was set to play against the Oklahoma City Thunder last night. It would have been his home debut at the Footprint Center in front of the Suns fans. However, unfortunately, Durant rolled his left ankle during the warm-up before the game.

It looks like Durant was about to go for a layup during the warm-up but was unfortunate enough to roll his ankle. As per multiple sources, Durant is currently wearing a boot and his return date remains a question mark.

Suns head coach Monty Williams spoke about Durant’s injury after the game against OKC, which they won 101-132. Williams mentioned that there wasn’t anything to report at the time but it looks like an ankle sprain. But as per recent reports, it looks like a Grade 2 ankle sprain, which means KD could possibly miss the remainder of the regular season.

Durant has been decent for the Suns team so far. He has averaged 26.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 3.7 assists in three games and looks to be getting comfortable as well. It will be a huge blow for them if KD is out for a long time.
