Kevin Durant joined the Phoenix Suns in a trade deal recently. The Suns managed to secure the signature of KD and T.J. Warren. The Brooklyn Nets received Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder, and Mikal Bridges in return, along with four unprotected first-round picks. Blockbuster is certainly an understatement to describe how the trade went down.
“I was upset that we couldn’t finish. I thought we had some good momentum… It was a blow to our team.”

KD was expected to stay with the Nets, at least until the end of the 2022-23 NBA season. But it looks like Kyrie Irving’s trade request changed Durant’s future massively. Durant even mentioned that he was upset that the duo could not finish what they started. He suffered a serious injury, an MCL sprain, and was on the sidelines for a significant amount of time. This was when the Kyrie trade happened and eventually led to KD’s exit as well. Speaking of KD’s injury, it has been the reason why there has been a delay in his Suns debut.
Kevin Durant could make his Phoenix Suns debut on February 25 against the Milwaukee Bucks
NBA insider Brian Windhorst has disclosed that Durant could make his debut as early as February 25. The Suns will travel to the Fiserv Forum to face the Milwaukee Bucks, who will most likely be without superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo. Windhorst admitted that there is little chance that Durant is available for the game on February 25 against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

For those who don’t know, Durant suffered an MCL sprain after colliding with Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler. This was not the first time that he sprained his MCL. Last year, Durant suffered the same injury and did not play for six weeks. Up until his injury, Durant was phenomenal for the Nets this season. He has been averaging 29.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 5.3 assists. It shows how good of a season Durant was having before disaster struck.
Durant will join Devin Booker and Chris Paul at the Suns. Both Booker and Paul are available and injury-free right now, which is surely the news that fans have been waiting for. They will form a big three with Durant and will be aiming to start on a good note from day one.
