Toronto Raptors superfan and all-time great rapper, Drake, has left a huge influence on the NBA. During his time at the top of the hip-hop food chain, he’s been more than involved in everything NBA. He’s always had the opportunity to sit courtside and critique the best of the best. But for once, it’s Kevin Durant who put the magnifying glass over the work of Drake.

Kevin Durant and Drake’s relationship has been rocky. KD believes that Drake could become one of the best rappers of all time. But the Toronto superstar was rooting against Durant in the 2019 NBA finals. They’ve had on-court jostling and KD even once said that he does not care about ‘Drake Night’. Regardless of that, their animosity seemed to only exist on the court.
Kevin Durant reviews Drake’s new album
On 17th June 2022, Drake released his newest album after Certified Lover Boy, titled ‘Honestly, Nevermind.’ In a nutshell, we see Drake perform a different style of music yet again. The album has been a severe situation of ‘hit or miss’. As most people that like the album, love it, and those who don’t like it, despise it. This can be aptly proved with the 53% like rate by Google users.
“When I first played it, I’m expecting street. ‘Omerta, Diplomatic immunity, Barz and it threw me off for a second. And then once I started listening to what he was actually saying and the beats started to just take control, I was like, ‘Yeah, he got a win with this one'”
Kevin Durant fell in the half that let the music make him fall in love with it. His approval of the album despite initial shock is a great representative of the fans that enjoyed the album drop. Drake currently has 63 million monthly listeners on Spotify and is sitting 6th on the list behind Dua Lipa.
With the basketball season now shut, the summertime is what everyone is focusing on. And KD wholeheartedly believes that this album is sure to spice up your 4th of July parties. At least we know now what Durant will be playing on repeat till the season resumes.
