The 2023 season may have not yet started but the narratives of the season don’t rest. It does not take long for the drama to ensue that is born from last season and creep into the next season. However, the Brooklyn Nets had so much drama towards the end of the 2021-22 season that Kyrie Irving revived them as soon as he could.
Kyrie Irving was drafted into the NBA in 2011 as a 19-year-old star from Duke. Being the first overall pick, he had great expectations and fulfilled them by becoming an all-star and all-NBA player. He has career averages of 23 points per game with 6 assists and 4 rebounds.
He’s been on 3 teams in his 11-year career and has already won an NBA title. But his journey to being the best player on a championship team has caused his career to derail a bit.
Kyrie Irving is tired of all the trolling
Kyrie Irving is grabbing headlines after reports surfaced of him being unhappy with Brooklyn. He wanted to leave and he wanted to leave now. He was willing to leave $37 Million on the table by declining his player option and joining someplace else that wanted him. This situation could have cost the Nets Kyrie and Kevin Durant in one off-season. A franchise-altering decision in his hands.
However, Irving could not find a situation better than the one he is in now. So, he agreed to stay with the Nets for one more season by accepting his player option. But this news came out very recently and was not at all a guarantee.
Hence, fans and meme pages were trolling the flat earther. Irving has made promises on every team he’s been on, only to leave them high and dry with nothing to be redeemed. ‘Barstool Sports’ compared this to the iconic clip of Heath Ledger’s joker from the Batman trilogy. But Kyrie was not amused.
“*NBA champion and *Gold medalist * Kyrie Irving. Just thought the statement needed a correction as y’all continue to make money off of my NAME and countless others.”

Kyrie Irving flexed his achievements in response to that post to shut them and their criticism up. Both Kyrie and KD are known to respond to such stuff but for the first time, he’s come out looking like the good one.
