Kyrie Irving is well known for the things that he has achieved on the court. What he is also known for is his tendency to cause drama at the end of every season. Whenever an NBA season ends and Kyrie is nearing the end of his contract it is all but guaranteed that he will stir up some kind of controversy. This year at the end of the 2021-22 season Kyrie was all over the news.

Fans were speculating that Irving is definitely about to leave the Nets and join LeBron in LA. Well, to everyone’s surprise, this man opted into his player option and will suit up to play for the Nets next season. Kyrie heard all the noise and shared a message for the fans after he decided to stay with the Nets.
Kyrie Irving will play for the Brooklyn Nets in the 2022-23 season
Irving opted in to his contract and immediately took to Twitter to share a message for the fans. “Normal people keep the world going, but those who dare to be different lead us into tomorrow. I’ve made my decision to opt in. See you in the fall. A11even.” This is what Kyrie said in a tweet that has now been deleted. We’re not sure as to what this means.
Kyrie could have been trying to imply that opting in after all that drama makes him different, and the latter part of the tweet could mean that he will lead us into tomorrow with his $36M contract, all of this may be true cause you just never know with Kyrie. The man is as unpredictable as they come. He followed this tweet up with another one, a GIF that read “I know who I am”.

We may not know the exact meaning behind Kyrie’s tweets, but what we do know is that The Nets are loaded again. Now, with Kyrie back, he and Durant can make another run at the NBA title. There is no doubt within the NBA that Kyrie can play and if he decides to play then a duo of Him and Kevin Durant could cause a lot of damage next season. The Nets also have Ben Simmons but much like Kyrie, Simmons is unpredictable and can’t be counted on to play.
Just this offseason Kyrie has provided more entertainment than he did during the 2021-22 regular season. It’ll be interesting to see how 2022-23 plays out for the Nets.
