The Los Angeles Lakers took on the Portland Trail Blazers tonight. Both LeBron James and Anthony Davis were back on the court for the Lakers while the Blazers are currently a team that is rebuilding its roster from scratch.
The game between these two teams was an extremely close one and it was uncertain as to who would walk with a win until the very end. The Lakers were looking to get a win after losing 5 of their last 7 games. However, things did not go their way and the Blazers put up a tremendous effort to take home the W.
LeBron James and co lose to a star-less Portland Trail Blazers
When looking at both teams on paper, the Lakers roster is far better than the Blazers even without Russ Westbrook who sat the game out with soreness in his back. Most people would have expected this to be an easy win for the Los Angeles Lakers. The Portland trailblazers just said goodbye to CJ McCollum who had played nine seasons for them. Damian Lillard is also out due to an abdominal injury. The Blazers also traded Normal Powell four days before the CJ trade.
However, in court, the story was completely different. The Lakers were handed a hard fight from the Blazers and what should have been an easy win turned into a hard fight and a loss for LeBron James and co.
Mid-game, LeBron James drove in for a two-point play and seemed to have lost his breath and decided to take a fan’s seat. The incident saw NBA Twitter blow up with a number of comments about how LeBron was tired of playing a team that literally had no big names.
