LeBron James has built a notorious reputation for himself as a liar and exaggerator of important events that he has seen throughout his life. We all saw the memes that flooded around popularizing “the LeLiar memes.” This is something that has grown rapidly and found its way onto various platforms of social media.
As we all know, LeBron recently surpassed Kareem Abdul Jabbar to hold the top spot as the NBA’s all-time leading scorer. This is something that fans knew was coming for several months now and prepared for it. One of them even managed to prove that LeBron is a liar or somewhat deceitful at the very least. We should certainly take a look at why people feel this way and how King James lied in this particular situation.
Fans wondered if LeBron James would remain tearless after breaking the record
Despite being in Year 20, LeBron is still widely considered to be the face of the league. He is also one of the few stars across the NBA, who can fill up seats during an away game. This is because of the sheer amount of LeBron and Lakers fans across the world.
While all of this undoubtedly makes him more popular and loveable, it also has its fair share of setbacks. Fans are usually respectful toward players. However, they let emotions get out of hand and say controversial things at times. When this goes too far, they are even removed from the game or suspended for a period of time.
Be that as it may, one fan did not hesitate from interacting with LeBron during a game between the Los Angeles Lakers and Detroit Pistons. His tone might not have been perfect. Be that as it may, King James still gave him a straightforward response. The fan began by asking the Lakers star how he would feel when he surpassed Kareem.
“Hey Bron, when you break the record, you gonna cry? You gonna cry if you break the record? Bet I’m running this sh*t back.”

LeBron shook his head and denied the notion that getting the scoring record would bring him to tears. That prompted the fan to say he would run the video back once the record was actually broken.

Those who watched the game know that the King got quite emotional and even rubbed his eyes. That indicates that he was actually crying. As a result, fans are now calling LeBron a liar for initially claiming that he wouldn’t cry. But doing so the second he broke the record, “It really is the circle of life, the man is a generational liar.”

Perhaps we shouldn’t criticize James over this too much. There isn’t a player currently in the league even 10,000 points away from LeBron. That alone is more than enough to let some emotions out. Additionally, we can’t fault LeBron for not predicting how he was going to feel before breaking this record.
