Luka Doncic has been one of the best players in the league this year. The Slovenian player has been bailing the Dallas Mavericks out of tricky situations on numerous occasions in the 2022-23 NBA season. With that said, it certainly looks like he has reached a point of burning out and injury proneness.
Luka was one of the players to not suffer a serious injury this year. That was until he started having some troubles on the court. A while ago, Doncic was seen coughing while playing a game. This was a concerning sight for Mavs fans, who were intrigued to know about their star player’s health. Once again, Doncic has been hit with an injury, as it was recently revealed that he would be missing the game against the Golden State Warriors.
What injury did Luka Doncic suffer?
The NBA world is unaware of what happened to Luka, and what injury he suffered. The main reason for this is that it did not happen during a game. Reports emerged recently and mentioned that it’s a heel contusion that Luka is facing an issue with.
Dorian Finney-Smith indicated he expects Luka Doncic to be sidelined to start the 5-game trip: “We’ve got to figure it out. Hopefully we might get C Wood back. … That’d be a nice piece to add without Luka playing.” https://t.co/N3tMRLA8ND

Some sources claim that Doncic will be missing two games, including the one against the Utah Jazz on February 6. This will certainly be good news for Mavs fans once they know Luka is not confirmed to be missing all of the five away games for the Mavs. Doncic has been averaging 33.4 points, 8.9 rebounds and 8.2 assists and is one of the contenders for the 2022-23 NBA MVP award.
The Mavericks will surely miss him as they have not done well without his offensive abilities on the court this year. However, when Luka Magic suffered an ankle injury recently during the game against the Phoenix Suns, Dinwiddie stepped for the Mavs. He put up 36 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists on the night. He will be expected to step up once again when facing the Warriors and the Jazz in Luka’s absence.
