Luka Doncic has been having a phenomenal season so far this year. The Dallas Mavericks sensation has given his all in every game this year and seems to make his case for the 2022-23 NBA MVP award stronger as well. There is no doubt that Luka has been the Mavs’ best player, together with Christian Wood and Spencer Dinwiddie.

Jason Kidd and the Mavs board have been under heavy scrutiny in the past when they were unable to find Luka a good partner on the court. However, despite how effective Luka has performed with Wood, Jason Kidd has overlooked that partnership at times this season. Despite this, the Mavs duo have been doing their thing on the court, and recently as well.

In the last game against the New Orleans Pelicans, Luka put up a triple-double, 34 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists. Along with him, Christian contributed 28 points as well. However, their performance didn’t catch NBA fans’ eyes on the night, it was a pass that Doncic made to Wood that fans believe should have been defended easily.

Is the NBA too easy for Luka Doncic?

In the third quarter, Luka drove the ball against Herbert Jones and went for a no-look one-handed pass to Christian Wood. The latter then dunked the ball with ease. This attracted plenty of traction on Twitter, as fans claimed that the Pelicans should’ve defended that.

Together with that, fans also drew a comparison to Luka’s comment on how he watches more of the EuroLeague than the NBA. A fan brutally summed it up with one line in their tweet, “Nodefense Basketball League.”

After the game, Luka claimed that he watches the league he used to play in, rather than the one he plays in currently. Fans commented on the matter as well, as many agreed with the Slovenian.

I only watch nba when the playoffs start. Thats when at least they start to play some defence

There is more defense in a game of Glober Trooters than on NBA.

— pepeldelpopulacho (@pepeldelpopulac) January 8, 2023

of course the defense play is better

— memodokkan93 (@genzo931) January 8, 2023

NBA IS BOOOOORINGGG.

Same here. I feel like Euroleague is more entertaining rn

Fans claim that the defenders in the EuroLeague are much more effective than in the NBA. This will surely be a shock to the die-hard NBA fans. The main reason for that would be that the American league is regarded as the best league in the world. Together with that, Luka’s comments from a while back are relevant as well.

The Mavs guard once claimed that scoring in the NBA was easier than doing so in the EuroLeague. We would expect him to know the best since he has played in both. Moreover, considering the ridiculous numbers he has been putting up so far, it might be true in Luka’s case after all. Although some might disagree with it, Luka’s talent and ability might have something to do with how easy he has been finding the NBA.
