Luka Doncic has endured yet another heartbreaking season with the Dallas Mavericks. He helped his team qualify for the playoffs after finishing 4th in the Western Conference standings. They managed to get past Utah Jazz and the Phoenix Suns, but could not climb over the mighty Golden State Warriors, who eventually won the title.
This season, he truly marked his name as one of the best players in the world. His performances to almost single-handedly beat teams were a treat to watch. He managed to almost average a triple-double. He made 28.4 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 8.7 assists per game.
However, we know how ridiculous fans can be. Luka was not fit enough for the league, according to many. There even were people saying that the Mavs lost because Luka was fat.

To be honest, the picture of Luka smoking hookah did not do any favor for his case either. This year, it looks like Luka has buried all those rumors of him gaining weight and not being able to cope with the league. In a recent game for his country Slovenia, he looks a lot slimmer, so much so that fans have been reacting to it by saying “no more Hookah Doncic”.

Luka has made himself lean and slim to be ready for the upcoming season. Now, the Slovenian will be much faster and more explosive, making him a huge threat altogether for his upcoming opponents.

It will be exciting to see how the 23-year-old does for his country. During the last Olympics, he helped Slovenia finish fourth, after losing the bronze medal to Australia. He had an exceptional tournament as he averaged 23.8 points, 9.5 assists, 1.2 offensive rebounds, and 8.5 defensive rebounds.

His numbers show that he was truly present on the court for his team on both sides after having a high defensive rebound number while also being the leading scorer of his team. He will certainly look to help Slovenia win the Eurobasket tournament this time around.
