Avery Bradley is returning to the LA Lakers after being waived off by the Golden State Warriors. He was part of the 2019-20 championship roster of the Lakers and contributed significantly to the team’s success.
It was revealed that Avery Bradley was cut off from the Warriors roster solely by the front office against the wishes of Stephen Curry and Draymond Green. He has proved himself to be a good defender and 3-pt shooter. LA Lakers claimed him after the waiver and he returns to his former team despite his wishes.
During the preseason game against LA, a fan asked Bradley to join the Lakers once again but he refused the offer in a hilarious manner saying “Nah I’m Good”. Clearly, the 30-year old guard wanted to stay with the Warriors for the 2021-22 NBA season.
This didn’t age well 😅

How can Avery Bradley help LA Lakers in their championship run this season?
Golden State Warriors waived off Avery Bradley and Gary Payton II after the unsatisfactory performance in the preseason. Bradley averaged 4.2 points on 38.9% FG and shot 22% from beyond the arc. However, his defensive presence cannot be judged from the box score. In the absence of Klay Thompson and James Wiseman on the defensive end, Avery Bradley was qualified enough to take on the role.
It is a good move by the LA to claim Avery Bradley as he is aware of the system. He played under Frank Vogel in their championship season and started 44 out of 49 games. Although he chose to opt-out of the Bubble in Orlando due to personal reasons, he played a significant role in the Lakers being #1 seed in the NBA.
Amid all the new signings and trades in the offseason, bringing back some core players like Dwight Howard ad Avery Bradley from 2019-20 roster could prove to be a favourable move for the LA Lakers.
On the opening night, LA Lakers will host Golden State Warriors in Staples centre at 10:30 PM ET.
