Ja Morant has broken the internet once again over another gun controversy. He was booked for a similar case a few months ago. The Memphis Grizzlies have blossomed into one of the biggest teams in the Western Conference and a tough group of youngsters to beat. However, the 23-year-old’s off-court activities have not helped better his reputation as a player in any way. It could only be a matter of time before he potentially loses everything.
A Twitter account by the name of Kurupt Sports reported that his endorsement deal with Nike was terminated as a result of the gun incident. He signed a $12 million multi-year contract back in 2019. However, the sports brand has not released any official statement regarding this matter. Even though the tweet has gone viral, it is not the truth. But this does not mean the All-Star isn’t facing backlash following the incident.

The Memphis Grizzlies have decided to suspend Ja Morant from all activities for an indefinite period. The Grizzlies and Morant were surprisingly a first-round exit in the playoffs this season after the Los Angeles Lakers takeover in style. Morant’s actions could be detrimental to his blossoming career in basketball. The first gun incident had him suspended for eight games.
Does Ja Morant have a signature shoe with Nike?
Ja Morant debuted his first pair of signature shoes during the Grizzlies’ Christmas Day game against the Golden State Warriors. He made the official announcement of his signature kicks via social media. The video was of his daughter gifting him a pair of sneakers. Ja unwrapped the box which was branded with his name and logo. Morant then revealed his shoe, which is arguably one of the better-looking releases of recent times.
The giftskii I’ve always dreamed of finally arrived. 🎁

Morant was the 23rd player to sign with Nike who has already signed big names like LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and many other NBA legends. He iconically became the first Gen-Z player to sign with them as well. The sneaker line was commercialized on April 19, 2023. However, his off-court activities still hindered all the good things that were happening to him.
Morant not only flashed a gun on social media in front of thousands of fans watching him live, but several other accusations against the NBA star have also surfaced. Ja allegedly threatened a mall shopkeeper and assaulted a teenage boy named Joshua Holloway. Even though Morant has come forth addressing these situations, it hasn’t helped him maintain a clean image.
