The Denver Nuggets have led the Western Conference for the entirety of this season, and are led by none other than Nikola Jokic. The reigning 2x MVP looks to be on the right path to securing his crown with a third MVP award. However, this season, there are no clear-cut winners for the award, as several players are having an MVP-level season. With the recent upsurge in the form of Joel Embiid, Nikola is less bothered about the award.
This year, the NBA has been entertaining through and through. There is no team below the 3rd seed to the 12th seed safe in the Western Conference for playoff spots. With the regular season coming to an end, it is going to be a thriller to see what unfolds in the West, as teams fight tooth and nail. With less than 10 games remaining for each team, there emerges the question of who will win the MVP award.

Nikola has racked up impressive numbers once again this season and obliterates everyone in the triple-double category. The Joker is more than twice the number of his closest competitor and it’s not Luka Doncic, who is again having an MVP-level season. According to The Denver Post, when Jokic was asked about winning this year’s MVP he had an MVP-level answer. “I don’t think about it anymore,” Jokic said in the interview.
Jokic looks entirely focused on a bigger matter, which is winning the NBA title, which he is yet to win. This season, he has been on a mission with the Nuggets, and putting up dominant performances throughout the season. The Nuggets look to have already clinched the No.1 seed and now their focus is on the business end of the competition.
Nikola Jokic holds Joel Embiid as a great candidate for the MVP
This season numerous players are deserving of winning the MVP. However, with Jokic’s attention elsewhere, we cannot rule out the Serbian, as he will continue to keep the pressure. Nonetheless, Jokic has added to some of the players who are deserving to win this year’s MVP.
“What’s happening now is, there’s so many guys that could win the MVP this year,” admitted Jokic. “Great candidates. Joel Embiid is a great candidate. Luka Doncic is a great candidate. Jayson Tatum, whoever you want to put in that mix. Those are all deserving,” claimed the reigning MVP.
However, Jokic is upset about the whole situation and would just like to celebrate whoever wins the award. “Clebrate them, don’t criticize, don’t tear them down. Build them all up, and whoever wins it, good for them,” Jokic concluded the conversation about the MVP award.
