The Golden State Warriors failed to close the game at the end and had to pay for it in OT. The Minnesota Timberwolves hosted the Warriors last night. Much to their joy, they were able to get a win in OT, after a stunning comeback. The Warriors MVP Stephen Curry has a few eyebrows raised after failing to turn up the pace in OT to get the Warriors a win. The loss against the Timberwolves reflects the picture of the Warriors in OT.
The Warriors began the second half with a 9-point advantage over the Timberwolves. However, Anthony Edwards, after having a quiet 4th quarter played an aggressive OT period. The Timberwolves guard D’Angelo Russell turned up the pace and hit 11 straight points for the Wolves. He managed to get 14 points in the 4th quarter to lead a Timberwolves comeback, finishing the game, 119-114.
OT has not been kind to Steph and the Warriors lately 😳 pic.twitter.com/vIYt7Fe3To

Stephen Curry finished the night with 29 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 assists. However, his performance in OT has people questioning his capability to lead the team during that period. To make matters worse, the stats don’t lie either, Curry has scored just 7 points in the last 5 OT games. That’s a stat Curry would not want to see after the loss against the Timberwolves. It looks as though Steph hates playing in OT.
NBA fans claim Stephen Curry choked in clutch moments after the Warriors Lose to the Timberwolves
In the 4th quarter, the 2x MVP had a shocking performance. The Warriors needed him to show up in the last quarter to see off the win. Instead, Curry scored just 8 points on 3-11 shooting in the 4th quarter and OT. Fans didn’t take this fact lightly after a dull display from Steph in the closing stages of the game.
After the loss against the Minnesota Timberwolves, many fans think that Stephen Curry is not a clutch player. He failed to exert his dominance in the 4th quarter when it mattered the most for the Warriors. Not taking his performance in the first 3 quarters, Curry could’ve done a bit more to see the game.
Do not take away the greatness by this stat, but Curry sure needs to step it up a little if the game goes into OT. A Twitter user @MambaSZN retweeted a post from SportsCenter, “HE IS NOT CLUTCH AT ALL.”

Steph Curry is the worst crunch-time choker in the history of the sport and he has been bailed out over and over by KD and Klay. Let’s talk about it

Curry is the goat for 3 quarters and then shoots like Westbrook

This loss against the Timberwolves will be a huge dent in the Warriors. They now have a 26-25 record in a crowded Western Conference, and are near the .500. This situation cannot be seen for a team who is aspiring to go deep in the playoffs. If they maintain this form, it will be an early exit for Stephen Curry and the Warriors this season.
