Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors have had an up-and-down season so far. They currently hold the 7th seed in the Western Conference with a 27-26 record, having won their last game against the sixth-seeded Dallas Mavericks with a final score of 119-113.
It certainly hasn’t been a season per expectations for the Dubs, who won the NBA title last year, for the 4th time in the last 8 years. They have been abysmal on the road this season, carrying a record of 7-20. Injuries have also been pretty much prevalent for them, with key players like star point guard Stephen Curry having close to 15 games already so far this season.
The former MVP’s presence has been huge for the Warriors as they’ve gone 7-8 when he’s not playing. The 34-year-old is currently averaging 29.4/6.3/6.4 this season. Even though they got the win last night, the Warriors might still be very nervous as we saw Curry suffer an injury, the extent unknown as of now, yet again.
How did Stephen Curry get injured?
It happened during the third quarter of the Warriors-Mavs game, with close to two minutes left on the clock and the score was 78-98 in favor of the Warriors. The Mavs had possession as rookie Jaden Hardy brought the ball up the court.
As Curry shuffled his legs trying to keep up with a lane driving Hardy, the two apparently bumped knees, which led to Steph hobbling outside the court. At that point, he subbed out of the game and sat on the bench, with team physicians attending to him.
While this was taking place and cameras were on Curry who was visibly in pain, teammate Jordan Poole was seen standing near him trying to balance a water bottle on his head. He gave up after some five seconds, but that was enough for NBA Twitter to start buzzing. Fans were amused that Poole was being so nonchalant about Steph’s injury in the middle of the game.
Poole can’t be a real person 😭

“Poole can’t be a real person”, a fan wrote in complete shock over Poole’s shenanigans. The timing of his act made it all the more funny. Here’s what a few more fans had to say –
I saw Poole doing this and was wheezing 😭

Poole’s apparent lack of seriousness didn’t help the Warriors at all, as he himself scored just 3 points on 16% shooting from the field. However, the rest of the team played well to lead them to a victory over the Doncic-less Mavs. Luka Doncic is himself out for a few games with a heel contusion.
For the season though, Poole has been a big help to the Warriors backcourt as he is averaging over 20 points per game. The Warriors would need his valuable scoring now more than ever, if Curry is ruled out for more than a few games, as they try to improve their position before the playoffs begin.
