The 8x WNBA All-STar Brittney Griner is finally back home and is back on the court after spending 10 months in a Russian prison. She was arrested in February this year at the airport with vape cartridges filled with cannabis oil. Unfortunately, her arrest when the Russia-Ukraine war had just begun. BG is dealing with the situation extremely well since being released and that’s commendable to say nonetheless.
Brittney has been housed at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio since her release from the Russian prison. She is in South-Central Texas and has no immediate plans to leave according to her agent Lindsay Kagawa Colas. To ensure Griner is not carrying any diseases from her time in prison she is undergoing a medical checkup at the base.
Fans are wondering whether Griner will be spending time in prison considering it involves a lot of intricacies regarding Russian law and the laws in the American state. So far it is probable to say that she will be free in no time. The Russian law on Marijuana is a lot stricter as compared to the law in the States.
Griner returned to the court after 10 months and the first act she does was dunk a basketball. She is undergoing light training at the moment. It is still unclear whether Brittney wishes to continue playing professional basketball or to end her career. Whatsoever the case may be, it will be her decision when to announce her return.
Colas’ son sent a photo of a dinosaur to Brittney Griner in prison
Nike send the Olympic gold medalist a much-needed wardrobe as she didn’t have many clothes in prison. Some of the things Griner brought back from her time in prison was a photo of a dinosaur. The photo had “Say Nothing” written on it at the bottom. The photo was sent by Drew, the 6-year-old son of Brittney’s agent. Colas mentioned the reason for her son writing the words, “I think he heard me on the phone too many times.”

The innocence of a 6-year-old cannot be overstated. It’s a little heartwarming that Colas’ son was genuinely concerned about the 8-time All-Star. Many of Brittney’s family worried about her. Cherelle Griner, her wife, was concerned after a disturbing phone call from Russia. But now everything is over, and Griner is home, safe and sound!
