The Brittney Griner situation seems to be taking heat as time passes. Many displayed their unhappiness when the USA decided to arms dealer Viktor Bout for the WNBA star. There were stars, like Kyrie Irving, who hailed her, and Megan Rapinoe, who welcomed her back home. Griner hasn’t received the same reaction from other celebrities. Ben Askren for example, protested against the decision, and called the Phoenix Mercury player a “pot head”.

It would be safe to claim that the country’s decision to swap Viktor and Brittney has caused quite a turmoil. Many have claimed that she shouldn’t have been brought back, not before former US marine Paul Whelan. Let’s take a look at how people have reacted to Brittney’s return to the USA.

Did the USA make the right decision to swap Brittney Griner for Viktor Bout?

Actor Terence Williams was one of the Americans to voice his opinion on the matter. He claimed in a video that Paul Whelan should have been the one to return first because he put his life on the line for the country. Williams believes Brittney is an individual who was “smuggling drugs”. Together with that, he also asked what Griner has done apart from “spitting on the flag and America.”

BRITTNEY GRINER IS NOT A HERO

The White House is calling her a Hero and Role Model! She was smuggling drugs & Hates America

The Marine should have been the first one released from the Russia Prison

Williams wasn’t the only one to believe the same. There were thousands of Americans who claim that Griner should not have been brought back. Moreover by letting a former marine stay imprisoned.

Meet Brittney Griner & Marine Paul Whelan.
Both Americans.
Both were convicted in Russian courts on dubious charges.
Both serving multi-year sentences in Russian prison.
Brittney hates America
Paul served America

Guess which one Biden traded a terrorist to free?

Should Biden have left Brittney Griner in Russia and brought home Marine Paul Whelan instead?

What about Retired U.S. Marine Paul Whelan?

Apart from the fact that the USA left behind Whelan, people claim that Griner is “anti-American” as well. Just saying that they just claim it would be an understatement, mainly because of the number of people that have come out and claimed that Griner “hates America”.

Trading the *Merchant of Death* for Brittney Griner a anti American from a Russian prison is nothing more than a slap in the face to those who love America !!

— Italian Mike2 (@ItalysMike54) December 8, 2022

Brittney Griner had a advantage of living in solitary confinement without human contact by having played in the WNBA.

I kid I kid, because she’s an anti-American jerk.

— Kurt Schlichter (@KurtSchlichter) December 9, 2022

Brittney griner wasn’t worth that, she should have stayed in Russia, considering her domestic abuse scandal and the fact she’s a dumbass

— codexTeco (@CodexTeco) December 9, 2022

Remember when Brittney Griner got arrested for domestic abuse? That was wild.

— Pytor Ivanovich (@PytorIvanovich) December 8, 2022

The fact that Brittney has mentioned that she doesn’t want the WNBA to play the USA national anthem games has been something Americans can’t ignore. That’s not all. Some have even pointed out the fact that Brittney got herself in a domestic abuse case with her ex-wife Glory Johnson in the past. Ultimately, for Americans, all these raise the question of whether she should have been swapped for Viktor Bout.
