Skip Bayless is an NBA analyst. He is a prominent media personality. Additionally, he is a great critic of LeBron James. Skip has spent countless hours discussing the King’s flaws.
LeBron and the LA Lakers failed to make the playoffs. Therefore, Skip found a new target. He has been criticizing Luka Doncic these playoffs. Bayless went on his show called ” Undisputed-Skip and Shannon” and managed to find faults with Luka Doncic.
Luka has had tremendous success these NBA playoffs. He managed to get out of the first round. Additionally, he eliminated the defending conference champions, the Phoenix Suns. Skip, desperate to find fault went back to the same flaws he accused LeBron James of having.
Skip Bayless accuses Luka, like LeBron James, of shrinking
The NBA players dislike the media. People like Bayless are a good example of why. He has had ridiculous takes and bizarre stands on seemingly constant occasions. Skip has announced several times in the past, that LeBron James was “scared” of the free-throw line.
An NBA player is a professional athlete fully capable of making the majority of their free throws. This is why they constantly flop and try to get favorable calls and more free throws. Therefore, it is highly unlikely that LeBron, who flops at times, is scared of the free-throw line.
Skip went on to categorize LeBron as scared of the “late-game” free throw line. This shows how he keeps making different criteria, no matter the situation on the court.
Luka Doncic has been unstoppable at several stretches in the postseason. He has averaged otherworldly numbers as the sole superstar on the Dallas Mavericks. However, they are facing elimination at the hands of Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors.
Luka Doncic didn’t do “well enough” in the third quarter vs the Warriors
The Warriors are famous for their “third-quarter comeback”. They usually win this quarter. This allows them to enter the final quarter in a dominant position.
Skip accused Luka of not being clutch in the third quarter. This is the exact opposite of the criteria he used for LeBron James, only that is for the end of the fourth quarter.
Luka has been amazing in the fourth quarter and scored 21 in game 3’s loss himself. However, Bayless chose to overlook this and made this new criterion to hold Luka to.
That is what is amusing about a “sports-take“. It can be nothing more than pure opinion at times. Skip can accept his own logic of the third quarter being important, as Golden State wins those.
The stats scream Luka is a lousy shooter from 3 and the FT line … he’s a touch worse than even LeBron. And Luka has shot 0 free throws in 3-straight 3rd quarters. He shrinks. More @Undisputed, now on FS1 https://t.co/5QBZaaSqkZ

However, if Luka had been facing a team that starts off hot in the first or second quarter, would Bayless demand that Luka score bucket for bucket with them when they are on full throttle. It is borderline ridiculous to have such high expectations of Luka Doncic.
Luka has had an exceptional run, one that looks to be on the verge of ending. It is sad when media members discredit amazing athletes on ridiculous criteria. However, that is the world we live in.
