The Golden State Warriors finished off the Phoenix Suns at home, and Stephen Curry had his moment with Chris Paul. Both the point guards have had many duels in the past, with the 2x MVP coming out on top on numerous occasions. However, last night’s thrashing left CP3 perplexed after, Curry reminded him of who he is. Even though Curry won the night against Paul, the Warriors did enough to win over the Suns.
Stephen Curry trashed talk Paul in the second quarter when Paul looked to lock out Curry. However, Curry who is nursing from a shoulder injury forced his way in to score against him. Even more hurtful, Curry drew a foul on Deandre Ayton, which hyped him up and talk trash to CP3. “This ain’t 2014 no more,” Curry trash-talked Paul after the sequence. “This ain’t 2014 no more.”

Though Klay Thompson took the night with a game-high 38 points, Curry left the 9x All-Defensive point guard worrying. Curry and the Warriors are no more a mid-table team since back in 2014. Out of which the Warriors are now a dominant side, winning 4 championships since then. Whereas Paul is still looking for his first ring.
The Suns have acquired former Warriors player Kevin Durant, who won his first NBA title with them. However, he was out due to an ankle injury. Nonetheless, the Warriors put the Suns in place and showed that they mean business. The Warriors are now tied with the Los Angeles Clippers, for the 5th spot. They will face them on Thursday night to hold on to the 5th spot with a win over the Clippers.

In 2014, the sixth-seed Warriors were pitted against the third-seed Los Angeles Clippers. It was a highly contested series, which had to be decided in game 7. The Warriors started the series with the win, however, it was the Clippers who won the deciding game which knocked out the Warriors. Neither of the teams in the series was able to establish a lead of 2 wins, as the series was locked. The Clippers ended up winning the series, 4-3.
Despite the loss, Curry put up a spectacular performance, averaging 23 points per game, and was the best player for the Warriors. In the entire series, only Blake Griffin bested Curry in points per game, edging with .3 in points scored. Nonetheless, Curry managed to average 23.0 points per game in the 7-game showdown. Curry showed his brilliant handles when he broke CP3’s ankles with a smooth move and got a bucket.
